14th Annual Writing Contest

Over $500 in prizes plus publication

The North Shore Writers Association
invites all writers from everywhere
to enter original unpublished work

Deadline for entries: postmarked April 30, 2010

Prizes for each category:
1st Prize: $100.00 and publication
2nd Prize: $50.00 and publication
3rd Prize: $25.00 and publication
Honorary mentions: at the judges’ discretion
Winning entries will appear in the NSWA anthology.

Categories:
Fiction: up to 2000 words per entry
Non-fiction: up to 2000 words per memoir/ essay/ travelogue/ letter, etc.
Poetry: a submission of one to three poems constitutes one entry.

Fee per entry: $15.00 per adult, $5.00 per youth (under 18 -show birthdate).
Members who participate in the contest may receive a partial credit toward their fees.
Make your cheque payable to the North Shore Writers’ Association.

Submissions: Include a separate cover page with your name, address, telephone, e-mail and titles of your entries. Do not show your name anywhere on the manuscript itself.
Your entry must be double spaced for prose, single spaced for poems. Use Roman font, size 12 on 8 ½ x 11 white pages. Number your pages and indicate your title on each page.
Submit unpublished material only and keep a copy. Manuscripts will be not be returned.
Blind judging is in effect. Winners will be notified at the beginning of June 2010.
