What is the NSWA?
The North Shore Writers' Association is a registered non-profit association of writers dedicated to nourishing the literary community of the North Shore through the teaching and sharing of skills. We hold monthly meetings where we listen to speakers, participate in workshops, and conduct readings, all with the aim of increasing our knowledge about the world of writing.
General Meetings
Meetings are usually held at 7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at the Silk Purse Gallery near John Lawson Park (Ambleside Beach area) in West Vancouver. We break over the summer and in December. Members of the general public are welcome with admittance by donation.
Our meeting topics include presentations by writers and editors on writing craft, personal experience, and will often include a short reading from their recent work. Writers are story tellers, and even if the genre isn't of interest the writer's story is! If you're planning on attending please check our Meetings page or Calendar first, sometimes the date and location changes because of speaker and room availability.
